How Landscape Photos Are Really Made

Earth is beautiful and full of surprises. So is Matthew Albanese, a New York-based artist, creating stunningly realistic landscapes from everyday objects and photographing them as if they were a part of the earth. Albanese named his project “Strange Worlds” for it really is strange to see coral reefs made from walnuts, or mountains built from cinnamon. Being a professional photographer and using various shooting techniques, Matthew is able to alter the appearance of materials and create images that seem perfectly natural.

For those daring to doubt his skills, Albanese has prepared some sneak-peek images of his installations at their early stage, allowing to see the construction process and the difference between the diorama and the final result.

20 Classroom Portraits From Around The World

English photographer Julian Germain traveled round the world, visiting countries from Yemen to Brazil to take every-day classroom pictures without telling the children to pose or adopt any certain mood. These pictures may not look as impressive one by one, but when you go through the whole album, the cultural and social differences strikingly reveal on children and their environment.

Julian took his first classroom pictures not long after his daughter started school, and originally never intended for this to become a long-term project. Eventually he would take a class picture in all countries he visited. Regardless of the age or social background of the pupils, Julian used a universal set up for every class he went to. The photographer placed his camera at the eye level of the teacher (who would never be present in the picture), and would only have a few minutes of kids’ concentration to do his work.

All these classroom portraits were then put together in his album titled Classroom Portraits, 2004-2012.

Mile Tower Jeddah. Height Competition Amongs Arabs

                        

The plans tells that it will be 1mile in height and twice to Burj Dubai which is recently completed to about 160 floors in Dubai. The $10 billion project is backed by Saudi billionaire, Prince al-Walid bin Talal, who bought the Savoy Hotel in London for £1.25 billion in 2005. The Prince’s company, Riyadh-based Kingdom Holdings, teamed with Hyder Consulting and Arup for the project.

The Makkah Clock Royal Tower is the second tallest building in the world and the biggest clock tower, standing at 577 meters high it is 59 meters taller than the Taipei Tower in Taiwan but still shorter than the Burj Dubai (or Burj Khalifa) which stands at a huge 828 meters.

                                      

The Mecca Clock tower is part of the Abaj Al-Bait (or Al-Bayt) project just 50M in front of the Grand Mosque in Makkah (Mecca), the site that all Muslims must face to pray 5 times per day, their holiest of shrines. The clock tower itself is used for the call to prayer within the city of Makkah or Mecca.
